چکیده

The electrokinetic remediation (EKR) method has been extensively considered for the removal of inorganic pollutants from contaminated dredged sediment. In addition, use chelating agents as electrolyte solutions beneficial in increasing mobility metals. This study investigated metals’ (Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, and Zn) mobilities by assessing effect two environmentally friendly agents, ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid (EDDS) citric (CA), enhancing EKR efficiency under a periodic voltage gradient. results showed that, same concentration (0.1 mol L?1), CA is more suitable Cr (67.83%), Cu (59.77%), Pb (32.05%) desorbing them sediment matrix concentrating electrode compartments. EDDS provided to improve Cd extraction percentage (45.87%), whereas had comparable improvement impacts on Zn (39.32% 41.37%, respectively). From comparison with previous obtained continuous voltage, applying gradient associated low led promising result.

Effect of EDTA, EDDS, NTA and citric acid on electrokinetic remediation of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn contaminated dredged marine sediment.

In recent years, electrokinetic (EK) remediation method has been widely considered to remove metal pollutants from contaminated dredged sediments. Chelating agents are used as electrolyte solutions to increase metal mobility. This study aims to investigate heavy metal (HM) (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn) mobility by assessing the effect of different chelating agents (ethylenediaminetetraacetic ...

Seasonal changes of metals in willow (Salix sp.) stands for phytoremediation on dredged sediment.

Fast growing biomass plants such as Salix species are promising for use in phytoremediation of contaminated land. This study assessed the seasonal variations and changes with stand age in metal concentrations of S. fragilis L. and S. triandra L. grown in field conditions on contaminated dredged sediment substrates with comparable properties. A lesser proportion of total soil Cd was extractable ...

Leaching of heavy metals from dredged bottom sediments

Deposition of sediments on land in atmospheric conditions causes many risks connected with environmental protection. Particularly dangerous is leaching of heavy metals from sediments deposited on land The research aimed at assessment of leaching of heavy metals from dredged bottom sediments potentially disposed on land. In this research it has been shown that the leaching of heavy metals during...

Enhanced phytoextraction of Pb and other metals from artificially contaminated soils through the combined application of EDTA and EDDS.

Chemically enhanced phytoextraction is achieved by the application of chelates to soils. Using pot experiments, the effect of the combined application of EDTA and EDDS on the uptake of Cu, Pb, Zn and Cd by Zea mays L. was studied. Among the tested application ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1 (EDTA/EDDS), 2:1 of EDTA:EDDS was the most efficient ratio for increasing the concentrations of Cu, Pb, Zn an...
